icare extends contract with Allianz for 12 months
Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has extended its Authorised Provider agreement with Allianz for a further 12 months.
This one-year extension allows Allianz to continue to provide claims management services to large corporate employers under their existing Nominal Insurer (NI) contract arrangements until 31 December 2022.
Whilst some minor changes have been made to update agreement details, there have been no material amendments to the performance framework.
In January 2018, icare began piloting the Authorised Provider model with Allianz and some of its larger customers. Learnings from the pilot informed final design of the model and in November 2019 icare announced Allianz, GIO and QBE as the first Authorised Providers to offer choice of claims service provider to the largest employer customers in NSW.
icare thanks the Allianz team for their cooperation in completing this extension agreement and for their ongoing claims management services for icare's customers and the Nominal Insurer scheme more broadly.
The 12-month extension to 31 December 2022 aligns the end date of the Allianz agreement with the GIO and QBE Authorised Provider agreements, ensuring continuity and stability of the scheme.
