Risk Education eXpress (REX)
Risk Education eXpress (REX) offers NSW Government
agencies a suite of programs and resources to build capabilities that protect
the people, assets, and services of NSW. It aims to deliver learning that is
relevant, practical, accessible, and collaborative.
Access to REX is via the
Insurance for NSW Portal. This service is complimentary to all NSW Government

What does Risk Education eXpress education offer?
How do I access Risk Education eXpress
education?
Programs can be accessed in
two ways:
1. Via Open Enrolment Programs – program
schedules are published bi-annually in January and June for the following 6
months. Access to the REX portal is required to view and register for a
program. View current programs available here
Note: if you have not accessed REX before, follow these steps to gain
your log in credentials:
- Click here https://my.icare.nsw.gov.au/portal-access-request/
- Select
“General (recommended)” and complete your details making sure to use your work
email address.
- Confirm your work email in the
automated confirmation mail triggered upon submitting your access request.
- Within 48 hours your REX username
and log-in details will be sent to you via email. Make
sure to file these in a safe place!
2. Via Agency Specific Application - Agencies
can apply for any program in the REX Learning Catalogue to be run inhouse or virtually
for a group of Agency participants. These programs are fully funded by
icare. Applications are subject to
specific criteria and available funding.

REX education is complimentary and only accessible to NSW Government Agency employees
covered by the TMF or selected TMF Service
providers.

What is a REX ‘peer connect’ community?
A REX Peer Connect Community is a
network of like-minded NSW government professionals in similar roles/ fields,
share a passion for what/ something they do, and who want to build and maintain
their knowledge and skills in a specific area.
Each community has specific
activities instigated and managed by icare and other experts, with
guidance from members, to facilitate engagement and uplift capability across
the public sector through targeted development.

networking and sharing opportunities (delivered face-to-face and virtually).

Insurance for NSW covers TMF Agencies in the event of loss or harm. This
includes legal liability, property, motor vehicle, and other miscellaneous
types of coverage.
Programs
and resources are targeted at NSW Government Agency employees in roles
responsible for protecting assets and services, preventing and minimising loss,
and involved in general insurance cover and claims management.
Programs
focus on building knowledge of the TMF Statement of Cover, upskilling for
efficient and effective claims management, assisting Agencies to identify and

Workers Compensation
icare Insurance for NSW covers NSW covers TMF Agencies in the event an employee suffers a work-related
injury or illness. This is in accordance with NSW workers compensation and
injury management legislation.
REX offers a wide range of programs and
resources to build capabilities to manage workers compensation processes and
claims.
These programs are targeted at NSW Government Agency employees in roles responsible for workers compensation and claims
management, as well as line managers supporting
their injured workers and also feature workers compensation topical and legal updates.
