Shine

Shine magazine shares stories, ideas and news for participants of Lifetime Care and Workers Care.

Shine provides participants of Lifetime Care and the Workers Care Program with an opportunity to share stories about life after a severe motor accident or workplace injury. Each issue they can share their unique and moving stories in their own voice.

We hear stories of resilience and rehabilitation, stories from families and carers, heartfelt stories of life before and after a serious injury, and stories of strength and courage.

Shine magazine winter 2025

In this edition of Shine there are themes around the value of pursuing meaningful work, finding ways to give back, and the importance of taking care of oneself. There is also a focus on being proactive and taking charge of your life, regaining independence, and leaning into support networks, as well as acknowledging the challenges faced by those with ‘hidden disabilities’. There are feature articles about programs and supports available to participants, workers and their families including the EmployAbility program, the Strength2Strength program and the Social Brain Toolkit. This issue showcases these programs and how they have impacted people’s lives. There’s also shining moments from people who previously shared their stories in Shine. They provide updates on key changes and achievements in their lives.
